About Us
If you own or operate a business and are struggling to meet your obligations, or if you are a consumer with an unmanageable debt load, the federal bankruptcy laws can help you put an end to creditor calls, letters and legal action, and get a fresh start. The laws changed in 2005, though, so you want an experienced and knowledgeable bankruptcy attorney to guide you through the process.
Attorney Jon B. Clarke, in Denver, offers individuals and businesses more than 35 years of practice experience. He was named a Colorado SuperLawyer in 2006, one of a select number of consumer bankruptcy attorneys to earn that designation. He will help you determine whether bankruptcy is the right step for you and can also help you evaluate alternatives to bankruptcy. He focuses his practice on Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 proceedings. If you are considering a consumer reorganization plan under Chapter 13, he can refer you to qualified counsel.
The Firm’s Bankruptcy Practice
Attorney Clarke handles all matters related to or involving:
- Chapter 7 liquidation proceedings. Attorney Clarke will work with you to see if you are eligible to discharge debts under Chapter 7, walking you through the means test established by the recent revisions to the Bankruptcy Code. He will prepare and file all necessary paperwork throughout the process and will act as your liaison with creditors, the court and the bankruptcy trustee. He will clearly explain what debts can and cannot be wiped out in a Chapter 7 filing so that you get the benefits you seek. He can work with businesses or consumers in Chapter 7 proceedings.
- Chapter 11 business reorganizations. The firm will help you establish new payment arrangements with business creditors. Attorney Clarke will work with you to create and submit a reorganization plan that is acceptable to your creditors, and will review any proposed repayment agreements you receive.
- Business or creditor workouts. Attorney Clarke will help you work directly with creditors, seeking new payment arrangements outside of the bankruptcy process, if possible.
